Ukraine bombs Russia

EDITOR: Last week I heard the story about helicopters from Ukraine bombed a fuel supply depot inside of Russia. It sounded to me that “we” were supposed to be outraged, or something. I think if some had been outraged, the rest of us would be. Russia has totally annihilated whole cities. I’m not sure why a couple of helicopters bombing a fuel depot was a story, unless it was meant to “rally the anti-Russia sentiment. War is hell and should be avoided at all costs. EDITOR: A miracle is defined as “something only God can do or orchestrate.” I am pleased to be part of one now in progress. More than seven years ago now, I became connected with a young teenager in our local county jail. AJ was there as the end product of crime, foster homes, juvenile wards, addictions, violence, drug use, dysfunction and more. Despite his sad history, I saw a gleam of hope underneath. Old Delta County Jail site

EDITOR: I am confused. There are four groups tasked with coming up with a development at the old jail site. Last week, the city council was supposed to have an answer to which developer would get the project. At Thursday’s meeting, resident survey’s and committee recommendations would be released and we would finally get something accomplished. Was there a committee recommendation? Joint development of jail property makes sense

EDITOR: In reading the article on the potential development of the city, county and chamber property, I really think the concept of a local joint development between local residents and business interest makes sense. This concept could create a win for the residents, a win for the local developers and a win for local business. The concept is also fully supported by the community Master Plan. U.P. campaign

EDITOR: I want to thank the Upper Peninsula for welcoming me and my campaign for governor as we traveled through last week. From meeting with local business leaders like Heather at Drifter’s and Marilyn at Snowmobile Museum to meeting with local activists at Hereford and Hops in Escanaba, the warm reception left me with optimism for Michigan’s future. We have a lot of work to do to get Michigan back on track after four failed years with Governor Whitmer at the helm. The career politicians in Lansing work for themselves, instead of for us.
