The leaked draft

EDITOR:

Roe, Roe, Yada,yada, yada!

I’m tired of the breathless ranting and raving about the leaked draft re: Roe vs. Wade by the Supreme Court. First of all, I think everyone should be upset that someone, or several someones, felt that they should leak this draft. This should infuriate every decent American. Then, as the news broke about the leak, how do hundreds of protestors show up on a moments notice at the Supreme Court steps?

Now, after a few days to digest what it will mean, I have some observations. Abortion is not part of any women’s reproductive health. I hear it said that it is between a woman and her doctor. I think they are forgetting someone.

Before the ruling in 1973, Roe vs. Wade, abortion was not illegal. After that ruling gets overturned, abortion will still not be illegal. Overturning this ruling will not lead to banning same-sex marriages, or inter-racial marriages. I don’t care how much Joy Behar, Sandy Cortez, Pelosi, and all the others want to scream like their hair is on fire. It really isn’t that big of a deal. If you want an abortion, go to California, or any number of states that it will still be legal.

So, back to my original point; the people who leaked this draft have damaged the Supreme Court and the country in general. Can we recover? Can the Court recover? Yes. We have gone through some tough times in this country. We can recover, if we have some cooler heads prevail.
