BR-H grapplers improve to 12-1

NEWBERRY — The Bark River-Harris wrestling team moved to 12-1 with a pair of wins in Newberry Saturday.

The Broncos opened their competition with a 72-11 win over Manistique. Bark River opened the scoring with a pin by Avry Corrigan over Manistique’s Jena Osterhout. It then got pins from Elliot Corrigan (119 Pounds), Daniel Dani (125 pounds), Kaine Eichhorn (130 pounds), Dillon Raab (135 pounds) and Ethan Messersmith (140 pounds).

The Emeralds earned a tech fall by Jacob Berry at 145 pounds.

The Broncos then went on a scoring streak with pins by Keaton Bartoszek (152 pounds), Tyler Racicot (160 pounds), Drew Allgeyer (171 pounds), Wyatt Raab (189 pounds) and Jacob Wandahsega (215 pounds).

The scoring was then closed out by forfeit wins at 285 pounds by the Emeralds’ McCabe Swanson and at 103 pounds by the Broncos’ Alison Kleiman.

Bark River next took on Newberry. Starting at 119 pounds, it earned a forfeit win by Katie Viau. The Broncos’ Daniel Dani then earned a pin 4:42 into the 125 pound bout. The Indians answered with a pin by Hayden Oneil at 4:50 into the 130 pound bout.

Bark River earned several wins in a row with a forfeit win by Dillon Raab at 135 pounds, a pin by Ethan Messersmith at 140 pounds, a forfeit win by Melody Racicot at 145 pounds, a pin at 152 pounds by Keaton Bartoszek, a technical fall by Drew Allgeyer at 160 pounds, a pin by Tyler Racicot at 171 pounds, a pin by Wyatt Raab at 189 pounds and a forfeit win by Jacob Wandahsega at 215 pounds.

Neither team had a heavyweight wrestler available for the day. The Broncos then closed out the scoring with forfeit wins at 103 by Brenden Siedlecki and at 112 by Avry Corrigan.

Bark River also earned two JV pins by Noah Gagne against Newberry at 152 pounds and Brenden Siedlecki at 112.
