Carter Dombrowski was big for the Jets as he scored in double figures in three of the four games they played.

Dombrowski was dominant in the game against Ironwood as he had 16 in the game but had 14 in the first half after leaving the game after a collision at the basket two minutes into the second half.

Kaden Malone picked it up in his place as he scored nine of the teams 15 points in the second half.

“We lost a lot of seniors,” Malone said. “We got some younger guys coming up and I’m looking to be the best leader I can be and have a positive attitude and help lift people up when they are down.”

Ironwood cut the Jets lead to one late at 31-30 but the Jets made the free throws when they mattered as they got the 35-30 win.

The Jets also earned a win against Hancock in a tough nail-biting game. A layup by Michael Granquist and a pair of baskets by Dombrowski gave the Jets an early 6-3 lead.

Hancock was able to tie the game at 10but Nathan Pipkorn answered with a mid-range jumper to put the Jets up 12-10.

The Bulldogs tied the game on a layup and got the foul and converted the free throw to take a 13-12 lead but that didn’t last long as Braiden Wolsker connected on a jumper to put the Jets back up 14-13.

Dombrowski took over in the second half scoring 10 of the team’s 13 points as they came away with a 31-27 win.

The Jets first game of the day was a 53-40 loss to Baraga Dombrowski led the way for the Jets with 20 points.

“We feel good about what we got,” Jets coach Jon Haight said. “We got what we wanted out of it. Carter is very good on the offensive side of the ball and is super athletic and will make a big impact on the team.”

The Jets other loss was a 49-20 loss to Northland Pines. Wolsker knocked down a pair of threes and grabbed six rebounds in the loss.

“Wolsker has really put himself in a good spot on the team right now,” Haight said. “His game elevated over these three games and he played well on defence at times and we will work with him to get him where we want him but his offense is right where we want him to be.”
