GGC Senior Scramble

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone Golf Club recently hosted a 3-man Senior Scramble. Bill Lindmark, Rich Heesaker and Todd Olson placed first in Divison A with a 58. In Division B, Scott Erickson, Jim Scullion and Dean Ellis took first with a 60, and Tom Marking, Dave Larson and David Wericke shot a 62 to win Division C. Additionally, Third place finisher in Division B, Bob Males aced hole 17 during the tournament to bring his count up to two.

ESCANABA — Barb Scott shot a 40 to lead the Escanaba Country Club’s Women’s League Wednesday. She was followed by Connie Kangas 44, Tina Ramos 45, Sarah Johnson, Amanda Bink, Laura Clifford, Mary Bergman, Paula Gustafson 46, Meghan Casey, Jessica Bray 47, Molly Lancour, Kathy Pearson 49, Spring Irving and Ann Marie Porath 50.

Delta County Area

Junior Golf League

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone Golf Club hosted the Delta County Area Junior Golf League Friday. In the boys division, Graham Johnson and Shane Wallin-Bryson Lancour tied for first in 13-14, Carson Artlet took 11-12 and Christan Vandamme finished first in 9-10.

On the girls side, Caragan Thill came out on top of the 11-12 bracketr and Malia Quigley finished first in 9-10.

Hardwick Memorial

four-person scramble

GLADSTONE — The 19th annual Gail Hardwick Memorial/Swallow Inn four-person golf scramble takes place Saturday, Aug. 1 at Gladstone Golf Course.

Entry fee is $65 per person and includes unlimited grilling, cash flight prizes, hole in one prizes, skins, raffles and a par 3 challenge with an additional fee.

Registration starts at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start at 10. Golfers must reserve their own cart.

Michigan-Wisconsin

Tennis Open

ESCANABA — The 73rd annual Michigan-Wisconsin Tennis Open is scheduled for Aug. 1-2 on area courts.

Singles is $18 per person and doubles is $22 per team. T-shirts will be included. Singles will be played Saturday and doubles will be played Sunday.

Deadline to enter is July 24. Entry with payment must be recieved by July 24 to receive a t-shirt.

Entry forms can be obtained online at escanaba.org or at the Civic Center, which is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Entry forms must be mailed to Escanaba Recreation Department, Attn: MI/WI Tennis, P.O. Box 948, Escanaba, MI 49829.

If there are not enough entrants, the tournament will make a cancellation by July 26 and players will be refunded.

Braves Fan Club Golf

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone Braves Fan Club will be holding its 26th annual golf outing Thursday, July 30 at Gladstone Golf Course.

Cost is $280 for a four-person team and includes 18 holes of golf, lunch with Stefl’s fries, and pop and water donated by Binks Coca Cola.

Cash prizes will be awarded for the top three teams in each flight. There will be hole prizes, skins game and each team can buy mulligans. There will be a 50/50 raffle and limited amount of raffle prizes. Each participant will also have the opportunity to win $10,000 for a hole-in-one on No. 5.
