Norway eliminates Broncos from playoffs
NORWAY — The Bark River-Harris Broncos season came to an end on Friday as they fell 10-o to Norway after defeating Stephenson 10-0.
The Knights wasted no time as they raced out to a 4-0 lead in the second inning as Cameron Varda drew a walk to score a run and Elliott Kramer tripled to bring in two runs and Owen Baij doubled to score one.
The Knights added to their lead in the top of the third inning, Kellen Amundson and Varda each singled to score a run and another run scored on a balk by Carter Pach.
Owen Baij picked up the win for the Knights allowing zero runs on one hit with nine strikeouts and zero walks.
The Broncos jumped out to the lead early against Stephenson as Chase Richer singled to score a run.
The Broncos added four runs in the second inning as Caleb Davis and Andrew Johnson singled to produce runs and Dane Schmitt grounded out to score a run.
Dane Schmitt earned the win for the Broncos as he allowed zero runs on three hits with nine strikeouts and four walks.
Nate Klein took the loss for the Eagles allowing nine runs on nine hits with three strikeouts and one walk.
Andrew Johnson, Gabe Spear and Chase Richer each had a pair of hits against the Eagles.
