BRAMPTON, MI — Sherry Marie Heslip entered into Eternal Life on Thursday, January 29, 2026. Interment and a Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 5. Friends and family will gather at Noon at the gravesite in Gardens of Rest Memorial Park, Escanaba, for interment. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm at the Wellspring Community Church, in Escanaba, followed by time for Fellowship in celebration of her life.
Sherry was born in 1949 to Albert and June Heslip and was raised in Brampton. She attended the Kipling elementary school and graduated from Gladstone High School. Sherry was proud to be a military veteran and served in the Women’s Army Corps (WAC), Medical Service.
A woman of many skills, talents and a tremendous work ethic, Sherry spent many years working as a professional industrial painter while living in the southeastern region of the country.
Loving the warm climate of the South, riding her motorcycles and pier fishing were among her favorite pastimes. Upon retiring, she returned to the U.P. and settled “back home” in Brampton. She worked for several more years as a service writer in Walmart’s automotive department.
Sherry was a genuinely kind and generous person. She had a soft heart and loved animals, those who lived in the woods near her home and the many pets she adopted along with way.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Gail Dieter, and brothers James, Dennis, Bruce and Grant Heslip.
She is greatly missed by her partner in life, Laura Rounsville, her brother Tom (Janel) Heslip, and her sister-in-law Patty Heslip. She loved and was loved by many nieces and nephews and Laura’s children and grandchildren. A woman of faith, Sherry was a member of Wellspring Community Church in Escanaba.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Delta County Animal Shelter or a charity of your choice. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Heslip family.
