Indians split

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone Junior Indians 17U baseball team split against the Marquette Reds Wednesday night in Gladstone. The Indians took the first game 9-7, before losing the nightcap 10-6.

Noah Peterson got the win for the Indians in the first game, giving up four runs over four innings. Peterson got two strikeouts while giving up two walks and five hits.

Rex Kelly led the Indians at the plate, going 5-for-6, including 3 doubles.

The Indians host Bark River Monday beginning at 5 p.m.

GLADSTONE — Kyle Lundquist aced hole one at Irish Oaks Golf Course with an 8-iron June 18.

Irish Oaks Men

GLADSTONE — Mike Barnes, Tim Shea and Wayne Arts led the the Irish Oaks Men’s League Wednesday with a 37. They were followed by Josh Mileski, Matt Smith Jr., Charlie Stafford, Kevin Vogel, Mark Weber 38 and Tracy Thompson 39.

Highland Women

ESCANABA — Nicky Hosking led the Women’s League at the Highland Golf Course Wednesday with a 42. She was followed by Anna Larson 46, Berta Good 47 and Lori Johnson 49.

ECC Women

ESCANABA — Laura Clifford shot a 42 to lead the Escanaba Country Club Women’s League Thursday. She was followed by Connie Kangas 43, Meghan Casey 44, Barb Scott, Ann Marie Porath, Abbey Strom, Molly Lancour 46, Jessica Bray, Mary Bergman 47, Schendell LeGault 48, Jen McCarthy, Diane Cannon, Rosie Fisher 49 and Paula Gustafson 50.
