Death threat condemnation

EDITOR:

Commissioner Moyle,

Despite our profound differences and our scathing assessment of your character, it remains imperative to affirm that violence has no place in our democratic process or within our society. While we vehemently oppose your actions and ideologies, we unequivocally denounce any threats of harm directed towards you or your family.

It is perplexing to witness the contradictory portrayal of us as both “weak snowflakes” and a supposed “violent mob.” Such polarizing rhetoric serves only to further divide us and hinder productive discourse.

I commend Ms. Van Ginhoven for swiftly condemning the recent cowardly act of violence against you. The threat of violence is abhorrent and unacceptable, regardless of political affiliation. It is regrettable that similar condemnation was not extended when Ms. Van Ginhoven and her family faced intimidation and harassment by a “man” who nightly took pictures of her and her teenage daughter at their home.

In regard to our elected officials, it is imperative that we uphold the principle that all individuals, regardless of political affiliation, have the right to carry out their duties without fear of violence or intimidation. Therefore, I join Ms. Van Ginhoven in unequivocally condemning the threat on your life. While we may disagree vehemently, such actions have no place in a civilized society.
