Arrest made in attempted homicide

INWOOD TOWNSHIP — A suspect in a shooting in Inwood Township has been taken into custody, according to police.

Trevor Lee Gault, 33, had an active felony warrant for his arrest for assault with intent to murder from the shooting, which took place in Inwood Township on the evening of Wednesday, June 17. A Manistique resident was shot and critically injured in the incident and was airlifted to Marquette for treatment.

On Friday, June 19, the Michigan State Police Gladstone Post and Manistique Outpost were seeking the whereabouts of Gault and his girlfriend Alyssa Jean Arnold, 20. Both Gault and Arnold are residents of the Manistique area.

An update from the post on Sunday, June 21 stated Gault had been located and taken into custody without incident. He is currently lodged in the Schoolcraft County Jail. Additional details will be released pending Gault’s arraignment.
