United Way collecting community input

ESCANABA — Residents of Delta County are invited to provide critical input about local social issues through a community survey being conducted by the United Way of Delta County.

Now through October 23, an online community survey is open to the public. Visit www.uwdelta.org/survey to complete the short, anonymous survey about needs and issues facing local residents, as well as how the United Way of Delta County can best address these needs. (For residents who don’t have access to the internet, paper copies of the survey are available. Contact the United Way office at 906-786-3736.)

The United Way is in the midst of its fall fundraising campaign. Contributions to the United Way stay in Delta County, supporting local nonprofit partners and programs, including the United Way’s own Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library (a free book program for children under age five).

Other United Way-supported programs include youth mentoring through Big Brothers Big Sisters, shelter and supports for survivors of domestic and sexual violence through Tri-County Safe Harbor, summer therapy camp for Delta County children at Bay Cliff Health Camp, parenting resources and education through Welcome Newborns and more.

Donations are accepted year-round and there are a number of ways to give: online at uwdelta.org (one-time or recurring gift), by mail (P.O. Box 1005, Escanaba, MI 49829) or through workplace campaigns. For more information, contact Julie Mallard at 906-786-3736 or julie@uwdelta.org.
