Cabin Fever Classic Raises $3,250 for the Village of Garden
Funds to Benefit Garden Village Playground Improvements

GARDEN, MICHIGAN – Thanks to the success of the “Cabin Fever Classic” at Garden Golf Course, a $3,250 check was presented to the Village of Garden by the business manager of Garden Golf Enterprises, Rocky Brandonisio. Village President Jeffrey Lefevre and Treasurer Karen Paulson received the donation at the Village Hall on July 8, 2026, prior to the Board’s monthly meeting.
The donated funds will assist Garden Village Playground Improvements as it brings new life to its community spaces, with specific improvements to replace the playground slide in Village Park and to install protective fencing along Garden Creek.
The “Cabin Fever Classic” was held Saturday, May 9th at Garden Golf Course in Garden Township. With a 10 a.m. shotgun start, the four-person scramble also included three optional events: Skins, Closest to the Pin, and Longest Drive. Sponsors for the Classic included: Grover Real Estate, Desjarden Excavating, The Dock Grill & Bar, Limestone Credit Union, Ranguette Quality Lawn Care, Creative Composites, Aldridge, D&L Gembel & Sons, U.P. Septic Services, Nicolet National Bank, Garden Mini Mart, DTE, State Savings Bank of Manistique, Shampine Photography, and Old Homestead Construction, as well as Garden Golf Course.
Located in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, the Garden Peninsula is 22 miles in length and extends southwestward into Lake Michigan, bordered by Lake Michigan on the east and Big Bay de Noc on the west. The Village of Garden is located on Garden Bay just off Big Bay de Noc, and is the largest settlement on the peninsula.
