Escanaba takes down Sault Ste. Marie to advance in playoffs

WELLS — Are you ready for some hockey? The Escanaba Eskymos were as they skated to a convincing 9-1 triumph over the Sault Ste. Marie Blue Devils in a Division 3 regional semifinal here Friday night. Junior forward Brody Levesque scored a hat trick and senior forwards Graham Johnson and Keagan Braun were playmakers in their final home appearance at the Hannahville Ice & Turf Complex. GLADSTONE — The Gladstone wrestlers continued their winning ways here Thursday night as they posted a 60-18 triumph over the Negaunee Miners in a Division 3 team regional opener. “They all wrestled hard,” Braves’ coach Ryan Harrenstein said. “They’re a well coached team. Their coach (Andy Asikainen) is a good friend of mine. There’s a lot of good wrestlers on that team.
