CARNEY — The Powers North Central girls had things their way here Monday night in a 46-26 basketball triumph over the Carney-Nadeau Wolves. That was especially true in the first half as the Jets took a 26-4 lead into the halftime locker room. GLADSTONE — The Gladstone girls were tested, but outlasted a determined Calumet basketball team 49-41 here Friday night. Gladstone was clinging to a 43-40 lead with 75 seconds left to play in this physical non-conference contest until senior Lillie Johnson hit a layup on a pass from junior Adele Ostlund. ESCANABA — Playing from behind can be challenging for any team. The Bay College basketball teams faced that situation here Saturday while dropping both games to Mid Michigan College.
