ESCANABA- Bay College’s Ryan Sweeney (FR, Green Bay, WI) has been named the MCCAA Northern Conference Player of the Week for the week of November 20-26, 2023.

Sweeney helped lead the Norse to a pair of wins over the weekend. In the Lindquist Classic hosted by Gogebic Community College, Bay College beat Minnesota North-Vermilion on Saturday by a final score of 98-75. Sweeney scored a team high 28 points on 13 of 16 shooting. He also had seven assists, three rebounds, and two steals.

On Sunday, Sweeney was at it again as he helped push Bay past the host school by a final of 78-52. Ryan ended up with 17 points, four rebounds, four assists, and two steals in that contest.

For the weekend Sweeney was 20-for-28 from the field, which was good for a remarkable 71.4% from the field. The two victories kept Bay College undefeated on the young season, making it their sixth win in a row.

They will be put to the test on Saturday as they host the No. 9 ranked Milwaukee Area Technical College. That game will follow the women and is scheduled for a 3 p.m. tip-off.
