Esky, Braves land 17 on All-District team

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Eskymos and Gladstone softball teams both had players earn All-District honors for their respective districts following their district title wins last week.

The Braves earned 10 spots on the Division 3 District 66 All-District Team, with the team’s only senior Kenzingtin Pepin (LF), Aliana Martinez (CF) and Samantha Drielick (RF) all being named to the outfield positions.

Tia Schone (SS), Samara Sanville (1B) and Rylee Gerow (3B) earned spots in the infield positions, while Addie Trombley and Montgomery earned honors at catcher and pitcher respectively.

Lauren Sundquist was named utility and Reese Herioux designated player.

Seven Eskymos were named to the Division 1 District 33 All-District Team.

Lizzy Sliva (LF) and Carney Salo (CF) copped a spot on the team in the outfield, while Erica Moore (1B) and Paxton Bullen (2B) did so from the infield.

Pitchers McKayla Mott and Grayson LaMarche were both named to the team as well, while Anna Boutilier was named player at large.

Both teams continue their postseason efforts Saturday as the Braves host their regionals in Gladstone, while the Eskymos travel to Gaylord for their regional.
