Norse drop two games over weekend
CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. — It was a tough day on the baseball diamond for the Bay College Norse here Sunday as they dropped 17-0 and 10-0 decisions to McHenry College.
Freshman John Robinette got Bay’s lone hit on an infield single in the fifth inning of the nightcap.
The opener lasted five innings and the second game went six.
Dymitri Moore blasted a grand slam home run for McHenry (8-3) which scored nine times in the third inning of the opener. Mason Schwalbach added a homer among his three hits.
The Scots plated six in the third frame of the nightcap.
Mike Moore struck out 12 and walked one in the first game and Grady Gorgen fanned 10 in five innings in the second game.
Matt Bush absorbed the loss and Jared Crow gave up just one run in 2 2/3 innings in relief in the nightcap.
The teams played another doubleheader Monday.
Bay returns to Illinois this weekend for twinbills at Harper College Friday and the College of DuPage Saturday and Sunday.
