Braves split with Flivvers

KINGSFORD — The Gladstone Braves split a doubleheader (10-11, 5-4) with the Kingsford Flivvers Monday in Kingsford.

The grand difference in winning margins in the games was two points. After winning the first game 5-4, the Braves lost the second 11-10.

In the nightcap, Riley Gerow, Alaina Trudeau and Tehya Mattson all had three hits for the Braves while Alivia Blowers and Addie Trombley had two.

Braves coach Rick Pepin noted the performance of Trudeau.

“Alaina Trudeau was a big boost for us,” coach Pepin said. “She sparked us with both her bat and her glove.”

Also contributing for the Braves was Montgomery Pepin, who hit her first career home run in game two.

In the first game, Montgomery Pepin threw for 10 strikeouts with one walk.

Trudeau (3 hits, 2 RBIs) and Trombley (2 hits, 1 RBI) each had multiple hits for the Braves in the opener win. Reese Herioux also had one RBI off with one hit.

The Braves host rival Escanaba today in Gladstone.
