IRON MOUNTAIN — An eight-run first inning proved to be too much for Gladstone 13/14 All Stars as they fell 13-3 to Kingsford here Wednesday.

Maddox Paoli had a lead-off single and advanced to second on an error. Conor Chrisman then drove in Paoli on a single and later scored on a passed ball to put Kingsford up 2-0.

Cam Trepainer added to Kingsford’s lead on a two-run single to put Kingsford up 4-0. Brody Daffen also had an RBI-single and Liam Stromberg brought in a run on a bases loaded walk to put Kingsford up 6-0. Dom Tatangelo also had a two-run single that put Kingsford up 8-0.

Chrisman got the win for Kingsford allowing three runs on five hits with three strikeouts and two walks.

“I knew with the big lead I could afford some walks,” Chrisman said. “I was using a mix of curveballs, changeups and fastballs and just kept them guessing.”

Gladstone’s Trey Knuth had an RBI-single in the second inning and Scout Rosinski scored on a RBI-single by Colton Hughes and Landon Stearns scored on a RBI-single by Eliot Bosk in the fourth inning but that is all Gladstone could muster.

Starting at $4.00/week.
