CRYSTAL FALLS — North Central senior Andi Arsenault poured in a game-high 29 points, as North Central defeated Forest Park 52-46, in a Skyline Central Conference girls basketball game, at the Eddie Chambers Memorial Gymnasium in Crystal Falls.

“It was battle,” said Jets coach Pete Schlenvogt. “We struggled a little bit. At times it was like we were sleep walking. But we ended up coming out and playing how we should in the fourth quarter and won the game.

“They (Forest Park) played pretty well, pretty tough and with confidence.”

The Lady Trojans had three players score in double figures, led by Ema Stepien with 14 points.

Lea LaChapelle netted 12 points, while Gracie Peterson chipped in 10 points, while snaring a game-high 13 rebounds.

“We played a solid three quarters, but we had some foul trouble in the fourth quarter,” said Trojans head coach Kim Bjork. North Central took advantage, and momentum swung in their favor. North Central made free throws down the stretch to ice the game.”

North Central, who improved to 4-6 with the win, travel to rival bark River-Harris on Monday, before traveling to Superior Central on Thursday, to complete their regular season.

“It was nice to have three girls scoring in double digits tonight, but we couldn’t stop Arsenault. It’s a tough loss, but it’s nice to see our girls starting to work as a team,” Bjork added.

Forest Park, who slips to 1-10 (1-7 SCC) travels to SCC foes Carney-Nadeau on Monday, and to Stephenson on Tuesday.

FP wraps up their regular season by hosting cross-county rival West Iron on Thursday in a non-conference game.
