LA CROSSE, Wis. — Former Rapid River High School girls basketball standout Sara (Boyer) Rohde guided Green Bay Notre Dame to the Division 2 girls basketball state championship here Saturday.

The Tritons won twice Saturday, beating Reedsburg 68-56 in the finale after blasting Onalaska 64-32 in the semifinals in the morning.

Notre Dame won its final 26 games of the season and finished 28-1.

Boyer was an all-state basketball player at Rapid River and was inducted into the Upper Peninsula Sports Hall of Fame in 2011. She is closing in on 200 career victories at Notre Dame.

She directed the Tritons to D-2 state titles in 2013 and 2014. It is ND’s fourth state title overall.
