North Dickinson at Carney

CARNEY — The Carney-Nadeau Wolves boys basketball team put another win under their belt Friday night as they defeated the North Dickinson Nordics 84-48 in Carney.

“I thought we got off to a good start,” said Wolves coach Paul Polfus. “We haven’t shot all that well this year, but we shot really well tonight.

“I was pretty pleased with the way we played.”

Polfus mentioned Tim Hodson (15 points), Brayden Kakuk (13) and Beau Koffman (33) as tone setters for the Wolves in the victory.

“(Koffman) shot the ball well. I thought he picked and chose his spots well,” said Polfus. “Tim Hodson, he has been playing strong all year and came off the bench and scored tonight.”

The Wolves host Rapid River Tuesday night.

Bark River-Harris at Forest Park

CRYSTAL FALLS — The Bark River-Harris Broncos boy’s basketball team (6-0) remained undefeated this season after beating the Forest Park Trojans 62-35 in Crystal Falls Friday night.

“It’s nice,” said Broncos coach Marc Zawacki about remaining undefeated. “We’re just taking it each game at a time, trying t improve and make some adjustments on the fly.

Hopefully, we continue to improve.”

Zawacki was especially happy with how the Broncos were able to execute their gameplan and get everybody some playing time.

“It was a nice team win tonight,” he said.

Trenton Wood-Keshick led Bark River in scoring with 18 points. Carter Zawacki had 11, Joey Stein and Nick Javurek each had 10.

Bark River-Harris at Manistique v. Munising, Manistique

MANISTIQUE — The Bark River-Harris wrestling team participated in a quad meet in Manistique Thursday. The Broncos earned three wins over Manistique, Munising and Manistique again due to Ishpeming being unable to attend the meet.

The Broncos started the night against Manistique, winning 72-9. BR-H earned Pins from Alex Kern (285), Avry Corrigan (112), Daniel Dani (125), Josh Riley (130), Ethan Messersmith (135), Keaton Bartoszek (152), Tyler Racicot (160), Drew Allgeyer (171), Wyatt Raab (189) and Jacob Wandahsega (215). The Broncos also earned forfeits at 119, Brenden Siedlecki, and at 140, Dillon Raab. Manistique senior Jena Osterhout earned a pin against the Broncos’ Alison Kleiman, and Manistique’s Jacob Berry earned a 6-3 decision over the Broncos Clayton Eichhorn.

Bark River then faced the light-handed Mustangs. The Broncos came out on top, 72-8. They earned pins by Avry Corrigan at 112 pounds, Daniel Dani at 125 pounds and Wyatt Raab at 215 pounds. The Broncos earned forfeits by Alison Kleiman (103), Brenden Siedlecki (119), Josh Riley (130), Dillon Raab (140), Clayton Eichhorn (145), Noah Gagne (160), Tyler Racicot (171), Drew Allgeyer (189) and Alex Kern (285). Munising earned a pin by Reagan Bowerman over the Broncos Kaine Eichhorn and a decision by Billy Crisp over the Broncos’ Keaton Bartoszek.

The Broncos concluded with a nightcap matchup with Manistique. BR-H earned pins from Brenden Siedlecki (112), Daniel Dani (125), Ethan Messersmith (130), Josh Riley (135), Dillon Raab (145), Clayton Eichhorn (152), Noah Gagne (160), Tyler Racicot (171), Drew Allgeyer (189), Wyatt Raab (215) and Alex Kern 285. The Broncos Alison Kleiman extended her match time with Manistique’s Jena Osterhout, but Osterhout earned the pin at 5:25.
