Rose finishes 60 at Iowa XC

FORT DODGE, Iowa — Bay College freshman and Escanaba native Zach Rose finished the NJCAA Division 2 National Championship race this past Saturday, coming in 60 out of 145 unners.

Rose clocked in at 28:23.1 at the finish line of the 8K course.

The time was just 15-seconds shy of his personal best.

While Rose had set a goal of a sub-28-minute effort, he was still happy with the result.

“It was a totally new experience,” Rose said in a Bay College press release. “I have never seen anything like it. There were so many people and runners there. Going into the first mile marker there was such a big crowd there cheering us on, it was a really cool experience. A lot different then what I expected.”

The experience, Rose said, is one he will never forget.

“I really enjoyed it, and it is motivation to work for another trip to Nationals next year for sure,” he said.
