EDITOR: Dear Delta County Community voters, A few disappointed election losers are attempting to recall three Delta County commissioners, for doing their jobs. After she spoke to all of them in an extremely disrespectful tone during a public meeting, the board had no choice but to terminate her employment, as any sensible, functioning board would have done. EDITOR: Many have grown tired of political organizations pounding a narrative that is not true. I suppose they believe if something is continually displayed, people will eventually believe the lie. For several years we have been inundated with commercials and not-so-subtle messages displayed on football helmets and basketball uniforms. Unity, Equality, Justice, Tolerance and BLM have been displayed incessantly. Each of these words and phrases imply prejudice is still rampant in our culture. Township annexation

EDITOR: I can’t believe that the most important meeting for the township annexation wasn’t televised Tuesday, June 20, 2023. Perhaps for the public to ignore it? The attorney for the application claimed that “it was not an annexation.” What? His application is one and the same. It was publicized everywhere as an annexation. See Michigan law. He said a conflict of interest was “legally impossible.” What? If that one commissioner didn’t have a huge financial interest in the annexation, would he have fought that hard? I doubt it. Road repairs

EDITOR: In Pennsylvania, a portion of highway, a very busy highway, collapsed after a truck fire or causing a fire, whatever the cause. 12 days later, that road has been re-built and re-opened. So, it is only a “temporary” repair. It looks pretty good to me. In Florida, a hurricane took out a bridge to Sanibel Island. 30 days later, the bridge had been re-built and re-opened. Escanaba, Michigan. Stephenson Avenue was torn up in the early summer of 2022. It is now summer of 2023. Still torn up. In fact, it looks like they are preparing to tear up more of the street. EDITOR: I just read George Franks’ fantasy article on the opinion page, Monday, June 12. It is understood that he believes in things that go against everything I believe. He praises CNN and CBS for their great reporting. That’s incredible. I’ll let most of the junk go but I cannot stay silent on his last point. EDITOR: Commissioner Moyle stated in commissioner comments at the June 6, 2023 county board of commissioners meeting that he visited the Delta County Airport on February 23, 2023 to see about getting larger jets and that he asked “Delta” what can we do? How can we show you that we like you? Except that commissioner Moyle did not meet with Delta. He met with the manager of a sub-contracted ground handling company called Unifi.
