EDITOR:

I just read George Franks’ fantasy article on the opinion page, Monday, June 12. It is understood that he believes in things that go against everything I believe. He praises CNN and CBS for their great reporting. That’s incredible. I’ll let most of the junk go but I cannot stay silent on his last point. He states that in Alabama, George Wallace stopped Blacks from going to the University of Alabama because he didn’t want Blacks there. Everyone agrees that Wallace was wrong.

Then he goes on to say “Sixty years later, there are folks that want fewer Blacks at the top schools in America”. Okay, he’s Black. He also wasn’t alive when Wallace tried that crap. Few of us were. If he really wants to divide America, this is the stuff to keep spewing. I think the Daily Press should have read this a little closer before printing. Or, maybe that is the way the editor feels.
