I can’t believe that the most important meeting for the township annexation wasn’t televised Tuesday, June 20, 2023. Perhaps for the public to ignore it?

The attorney for the application claimed that “it was not an annexation.”

What? His application is one and the same. It was publicized everywhere as an annexation. See Michigan law.

He said a conflict of interest was “legally impossible.” What? If that one commissioner didn’t have a huge financial interest in the annexation, would he have fought that hard? I doubt it.

Accused Escanaba Township treasurer of restrictive decisions. She wasn’t even elected to the township board then.

Same commissioner called the other four commissioners “gutless.”

Same commissioner called us, emotional, political, “thugs.”

Wouldn’t you be emotional if your township could be ripped apart and another be overburdened with all the difficult changes for both?

I wish the public could have seen it Live and on YouTube.

The public missed important details.
