County politics

EDITOR: In 2016 the American people shocked the forces of the Left by electing Donald Trump. The Left had used every accusation they could think of, factual or not, to destroy his reputation but it wasn’t enough. What to do? Find even more issues, factual or not, as an excuse to impeach and remove him from office. Fast forward to Delta County today. Three Republican Delta County commissioners are being accused by the Left of multiple offenses, factual or not, as an excuse to recall them and remove them from office. EDITOR: This letter to the editor is in response to Delta County Commissioner Moyle’s letter of April 11, 2024. Visualize this: Tall man, 250 pounds or more, walks into county meeting with his white long sleeve shirt tucked into his blue jeans, and pistol strapped to his belt…somewhat under his belly. DEI and county board

EDITOR: This letter is in response to the recent Delta County Board of Commissioners meeting held April 9th. The board was presented with a request from MSU Extension for a 4% annual increase towards helping the county’s 4 H program. The MSU-E 4 H website indicates it is the largest youth development organization in Michigan, providing programming to more than 100,000 youth each year. EDITOR: Once again, I found myself both appalled and dumbfounded by the scene which took place at the county commission meeting on April 9. As a resident of Delta County, I am embarrassed to have such contentiousness on public display. Anyone wondering why Commissioners Moyle, Barron, and Petersen are being recalled need only to watch the YouTube video of this latest meeting. EDITOR: The last year I felt pummeled by the word ethics ie: Delta County Citizens for Ethical Leadership. Luckily, due to the fact that I was required to take 1.5 credits every two years on the topic of professional ethics to maintain my Wisconsin engineering license before I retired, I have been grounded in the concept. EDITOR: At the statutory meeting of the county board of commissioners last night, I was appalled by what I heard from various audience members. Ann Fix accused me of being heavy handed and intentionally intimidating members of the audience. That’s an outright falsehood, if you watch the meetings on YouTube you cannot hear the audience, and what is said. I have been sworn at, (F bowed) threatened, and treated with disregard as I attempt to do the work of the people in running an orderly meeting.
