Historical society program slated for Wednesday

ESCANABA — Rich Anzalone will present the final program in the Delta County Historical Society’s 2022 Winter Outreach Series on Wednesday, April 13. He will share portraits scanned from a collection of negatives assembled by professional photographer Paul Gerard of Gladstone and donated to the historical society by his daughter, Rachel Barnhart. Gerard accumulated the negatives of local photography studios, including Robb Studio, Selkirk’s and others.

This program will focus on the Robb Studio’s glass negatives from about 1914 -1916. Some of the subjects are people prominently associated with Escanaba’s history who were photographed frequently; for others a portrait was a rare event capturing a newly married couple or a family with many children.

The presentation begins at 7 p.m. in the Bay Rooms of the Heirman Center at Bay College. It is free and open to the public.

Bay College observes CDC COVID guidelines. At this time, masks are not required but social distancing is observed.

Starting at $4.00/week.
