Bay Sages sets meeting Dec. 2

ESCANABA — The Bay Sages will meet for their regular monthly meeting on Thursday, December 2, at 10 a.m. at Bay de Noc Community College Besse Center Theater.

The Bay Sages is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing educational programs for older adults in the Delta County area. Dues are $20 for the year and include monthly newsletters, coffee and rolls at regular meetings and a wide variety of educational opportunities for members. Guests and new members are welcome. Dues are payable at the meeting or can be mailed to the Bay Sages Office at Bay College.

The program for December will be on the Escanaba Solar Project located adjacent to the airport. Glendon Brown, a 20 year member of the Electrical Advisory Committee, and his wife, Marilyn, will provide background on the project, its present status, and the future of solar power locally.

Refreshments will be provided prior to the meeting in the Besse Center lobby. George and Marie Peterson will also perform a variety of holiday musical selections. Please be advised that masks covering your mouth and nose are required for everyone on the campus, regardless of vaccine status.

Blood center has crital need for blood

ESCANABA — The U.P. Regional Blood Center is experiencing a critical need for O Positive, A Negative, O Negative, and B Negative blood types. The UP Regional Blood Center has collection sites in Marquette, Hancock and Escanaba and is the primary supplier of blood to 13 U.P. Hospitals. Kiwanis Christmas tree lighting set

GLADSTONE — The Kiwanis Christmas Tree of Honor and Remembrance lighting ceremony will take place on Sunday, December 5 at 5:30 p.m. at the Gladstone Beach House in Van Cleve Park.
