Organ concert at St. Joseph and St. Patrick
ESCANABA — Organist David Troiano will be returning to Escanaba at St. Joseph and St. Patrick Parish on Monday at 7 p.m. Troiano’s performances have garnered notice for their clean performances, musicality and interesting programing.
The performance is free of charge, though a free-will offering will be accepted to cover concert expenses.
Troiano has appeared throughout the United States, Canada, Portugal, Sweden, Poland, Lithuania, Argentina, Ecuador, Finland and Mexico. He currently serves as director at Liturgical Music and Choirs at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Shelby Township, Michigan.
In addition, he served as instructor of Liturgical Chant at SS. Cyril and Methodius Seminary until its closing in 2022. He also earned a master’s degree in Voice Performance from Wayne State University and currently teaches there as an adjunct professor of voice.
His program, part of the annual Summer Organ Series at St. Joseph & St. Patrick, will feature organ works of the 1600’s through the 1990’s and include composers such as Dubois, Bach, Thalden-Ball, and this year will feature a Concerto for Two Organs by the Spanish Composer Antonio Soler, with parish music director John Ignatowski on the second organ.
The Escanaba recital will be played on the church’s two front instruments: 2016 Lauck organ (which uses the pipes of the former St. Patrick’s organ) and the 1971 Wicks organ relocated here from Cedarville in 2008.
