ESCANABA — Wishes On Wheels, the long- standing collection of school supplies for children in need in Delta County, will be continuing for the next two weeks. Supplies most in need are: spiral notebooks (wide ruled), colored folders and pencils, red, back and blue pens, ear buds, binders or trapper keepers, wide rule loose leaf paper, regular and scientific calculators.

Items can be dropped off Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until noon at the First Presbyterian Church of Escanaba at 819 1st Avenue South until Thursday, August 26. A box will be located just inside the double doors off the parking lot. There will also be a drop off box in the lobby of the Penstar building, located at 1401 No. 26th Street.

This drive, co- sponsored by the GFWC-Escanaba Woman’s Club and the First Presbyterian Church is in it’s 17th year after being cancelled last year due to Covid. Media sponsors are WYKX and WDBC.

Parents needing school supplies for their children should contact their school social worker or nurse who will use the donated items to fill their requests.
