HOUGHTON — During the holiday season, the team at GS Engineering has a tradition of giving back to the community and this year is no exception. “Traditionally, we have a friendly competition to collect food donations from our employees” said Melissa Stein, HR & Office Manager at GS Engineering. “With the majority of our workforce working from home that was not going to be possible. Therefore, we developed an online giving option to allow all our employees the chance to participate from home and the response was amazing.” In addition to the donations from the employees, GS Engineering offered matching funds to further the commitment to Little Brothers. On Friday, Little Brothers received the donation of over $1,300 plus various food items.

Little Brothers, Friends of the Elderly works to support to those who are less fortunate in our community by providing food, friendship, transportation & hope. They are always looking and thankful for non-perishable food donations to stock up their pantry throughout the year, but especially during the holiday season. In addition to preparing hot meals for the holidays and preparing holiday food bags, Little Brothers delivers around one hundred bags of food to area elders each month. For more information on Little Brothers including how to donate or volunteer, visit their Hancock Office on 527 Hancock Street, call (906) 482-6106, or visit https://houghton.littlebrothers.org/.
