Wells Lions Club raffle winner named

WELLS — The winner of the Wells Lions Club 52-week raffle for the week of April 19 is Bunny Villeneuve of Escanaba, who won $100. This was week 38 of the raffle.

Loans available for Gladstone students

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone Scholarship and Student Loan Foundation will be awarding interest-free $2,000 loans to Gladstone High School graduates pursuing further education for the 2021-22 academic year.

Alumni may receive up to four annual loans during their lifetimes. Applications will be available beginning May 1 in the high school office. The deadline for submission is June 11 and both parent and student signatures are required on the forms.

Escanaba scholarships to be awarded May 26

ESCANABA — On Friday, April 16, the Escanaba Area Public Schools District’s scholarship committee met to allocate over $650,000 in local scholarships to deserving applicants from the class of 2021. The committee was pleased to announce that $394,592 is from the EAPS Scholarship Program and approximately $255,000 is from other local trusts and foundations dedicated to award to Escanaba High School graduating seniors.

The scholarships will be distributed at the Escanaba High School Honors Program, scheduled for Wednesday, May 26.

The district and committee would like it express its gratitude to all past and present scholarship donors who worked so hard to make these funds available to graduating seniors of Escanaba High School.
