Bay offers home brewing workshop

ESCANABA — Learn how to brew your own beer with Bay College Training and Development’s non-credit workshop in home brewing. Brew School 101: Getting Started in Home Brewing, will take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every other Saturday; running Jan. 19 through April 27. This 40-hour workshop is designed for people who have never brewed a batch of beer before and are interested in learning how; or for people that have made a batch or two and still have questions. The workshop will cover everything that is needed to successfully brew beer at home, with no prior knowledge of home brewing required.

To emphasize hands-on experience, the class size will be limited to 16 participants. This will allow small teams to brew six batches of beer to share in sensory comparisons. Instructor Paul Holeva will introduce a variety of home brewing tools and techniques, the four key ingredients of beer, and explore the impact that these tools, ingredients, and processes can have on the final product.

There is a fee to attend. To register or to view all upcoming Bay College Training and Development offerings, visit https://mytraining.baycollege.edu.
