GREEN BAY – A former player will succeed Kevin Borseth as women’s basketball coach at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.

Kayla Karius, a native of Sheboygan, Wis.. will replace Borseth. The 2011 graduate has been women’s head coach at South Dakota State the past two years. Borseth, who spent two terms as the UWGB coach, retired earlier this month. He compiled an overall record of 821-316 as Ironwood Gogebic Community College, Michigan Tech and the University of Michigan.

He returned to Green Bay in 2012, after spending the previous five seasons at the University of Michigan.

Borseth, a native of Bessemer, was selected to the Upper Peninsula Sports Hall of Fame in 2004.
