Delta County teacher’s aide requests court to enter a plea of not guilty

ESCANABA — Robin Popour, a former teacher’s aide of the Delta Schoolcraft Intermediate School District Learning Center was arrested last December after an incident occurring on Dec. 17 involving an alleged altercation with a special needs student.

Popour is faced with one count of third-degree child abuse, a felony punishable with up to two years imprisonment or up to five years of probation.

Popour was originally scheduled to appear in court on April 20. However, Popour’s attorney submitted a waiver of arraignment. Through this waiver, Popour stands mute to the charge and requests the court to enter a plea of not guilty.

As of this reporting, no future court dates have been scheduled.
