Bay women defeat Muskegon Community College

ESCANABA — The Bay College women wasted little time taking charge here Tuesday night in a 100-45 basketball rout of Muskegon Community College in a Great Lakes District C quarterfinal game. The victory sends the Norse (24-5) to Mott Community College at Flint to face Grand Rapids Community College (20-9) in a semifinal match-up Friday at 11 a.m. The Jayhawks finished 11-14. “This feels really good,” Bay sophomore guard Lauren Zawada said. “This was a special game. Bay men defeat Kirtland Community College

ESCANABA — Bay College and Kirtland Community College men’s basketball teams split a pair of close games during the regular season. The post-season meeting was different, however, as the Norse rolled past Kirtland 98-57 in a Great Lakes District C quarterfinal contest here Wednesday night. Kirtland won the first meeting 69-62 in Grayling Jan. 28 and the Norse took the second game 87-83 at Delta College Feb. 22. Bay, which ran its winning streak to eight games, improved to 23-6.
