Esky girls take top honors at Escanaba Country Club

ESCANABA — Marquette boys and Escanaba girls came out victorious at the Escanaba Country Club here Thursday.
On the Boys side Marquette won with a score of 304. Escanaba came in second at 321 and Menominee was third with 346. On the girls side Escanaba won with a score of 415.. Menominee was second with 485 and Gladstone was third with 538.
Escanaba junior Carson Artley had a good day as he rebounded with a trio of birdies on the back nine to top the scoring leaderboard for the Eskymos and tied with Christian VanDamme from Mid Peninsula and Seve Swanson of Marquette.
Menominee freshman Brady Sallgren had his best outing of the season as he finished with a score of 86. Sallgren parred on four holes and nearly birdied on the Par 4 12th hole.
VanDamme had a pair of birdies on holes one and 16 on the way to the three way tie at the top.
In girls action, Sault Ste. Marie freshman Renee Guan led the way for the girls with a score of 84 including a birdie on the Par 3 14th hole.
Menominee senior Lexi Marineau had a pair of birdies on holes 11 and 14 and finished the day with a score of 90.
