West Iron County boys and girls shine at Gwinn

GWINN — Youth was served here Thursday as underclassmen had a chance to shine in the Division 2 regional track and field meet. MANISTIQUE — Gladstone sophomore Maggie Karl enjoyed another record-setting day, soaring a school-record 10 feet, seven inches in girls’ pole vault in the Division 3 regional here Wednesday. Her latest jump on this sunny and breezy day was two inches higher than her previous best in last week’s Manistique Emerald Invitational. CARNEY — The Norway Knights were in control from start to finish here Tuesday as they won both games of their softball doubleheader with the Carney-Nadeau Wolves taking game one 16-0 and game two 18-2.
