Eskymo baseball tames Menominee

MENOMINEE –Despite committing four errors and mustering six hits, Escanaba baseball had plenty of opportunities to capitalize on during Tuesday’s game against Menominee.

Esky scored no fewer than one run in all six innings, bottled the maroons to two hits and jumped all over eight Menominee miscues in a 15-2 win in Menominee.

Freshman Brody Ison earned the win, allowing two earned runs off two hits while issuing one walk and striking out for in four innings on the mound. Cannon Arnt struck out two and walked one in a hitless first inning. Nick Chiu tossed a scoreless and hitless sixth inning.

Eli Garnder finished 1-for-3 with two RBI while walking and scoring twice. Nolan Bink finished 1-for-4 with two RBI. Bon LaChance finished 1-for-1 and scored three times.

Lennox Peacock, Ben Johnson and Mikaiden Hughes also scored twice. The Eskymos combined to draw 13 walks.

Due to inclement weather and wet field conditions, Esky’s previously scheduled game against Iron Mountain was canceled and will not be re-scheduled.

The Eskymos return to action to host Gladstone at Al Ness field at 4 p.m. Friday.
