ESCANABA — Three girls from the Escanaba wrestling team have punched their tickets to Ford Field for the inaugural MHSAA Individual Girls’ State Championships March 4-5 in Detroit.

Linnea Britton (115) with a sixth place result, Vanessa Reimer (145) a fifth and Aubree Croasdell (190) a sixth this weekend at the MHSAA Division 2 Regional 5-2 Individual Finals in Hartland.

With their finishes at Regionals, the girls all qualified to head to the State Championships.

The 2021-22 season is the first to have a dedicated individual division for the girls for the state championships after the MHSAA announced the addition last May.

While girls are still able to compete in the traditional boys championships in Divisions 1-4, they can not compete in both the boys and girls championships.
