Waterfront races
set for Saturday
GLADSTONE — The MISH Waterfront Marathon, Half-Marathon and 10-kilometer run are taking place here Saturday with all races starting and finishing at the Terrace Bay Inn.
Each race will follow the shore of Little Bay de Noc, with the 10-K turn-around at Van Cleve Park.
The half-marathon will continue through the northern portion of Gladstone before returning to the Terrace, and marathon runners will continue to Rapid River before heading back.
Packet pick-up and on-site registration takes place tonight from 5-7 and Saturday from 6:30-7:45 a.m. at the Terrace.
The marathon, new to this year’s lineup, starts Saturday at 7 a.m. The half-marathon begins at 8:30 with the 10-K runners taking off five minutes later.
Seven aid stations with water and Powerade will be available approximately every two miles. Official time and water stops end after six hours. Walkers are welcome.
Participants will receive a premium race shirt, finisher medals, race bib and post-race refreshments.
Highland women
HYDE — Laura Adams and Rachael Latta shot 44 in the Highland Golf Club Women’s League Wednesday.
They were followed by Anne Madalinski 46, Lori Johnson, Karen Ettenhofer and Nicky Hosking 48 and Anna Larson and Berta Good 49.
Oaks men
GLADSTONE — James Smith carded a 35 to lead the Oaks Men’s League Wednesday night.
Tim Shea 36, Randy Eis and Brad Peterson 37, Bryan Burak, Steve Gauthier and Matt Smith at 38 and Don Cousineau and Mel Davis at 39 followed for the under 40 scores.
