Emeralds sweep

GWINN — The Manistique Emeralds put together a solid effort in a 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-17) volleyball victory over the Gwinn Modeltowners here Tuesday night.

Manistique’s Kayla Muth collected 10 kills. Emma Jones added two service aces, two blocks and 10 digs and Madison Zellar had nine digs.

“We did a lot of good things,” said Emeralds’ coach Amy Nixon. “We served consistently and our passing was real good. Emma did well and Kayla has played consistently for us.”

The Emeralds, who also won the jayvee match (25-13, 25-7), visit Bark River-Harris Tuesday.

Manistique — Jones (two aces, two blocks, 22 assists); Richey (two aces, 10 digs); Muth (10 kills); Zellar (nine digs).
