ST. NICHOLAS — The Mid Peninsula Wolverines kept their serves inbounds for the most part here Tuesday night in a 3-0 (25-11, 25-16, 25-12) volleyball triumph over the North Central Jets.

Daisy Englund hit eight service aces to go with 15 assists. Allyson Lancour added five aces, nine kills and a block in the non-conference outing.

Landry Koski, however, was Mid Pen’s leader at the net with 18 kills and Cora Prater was its defensive leader with 13 digs. Shae Lampinen had 10 digs.

“We were serving very well,” said Mid Pen coach Emily Kayser. “Three girls served 100 percent. Allyson and Landry were very aggressive at the net and our back row kept the ball alive a lot. Cora did a great job in the back row, and we’re very proud of our overall serving tonight. North Central has improved a lot. They’re very scrappy.”

The Wolverines (3-2), who won the jayvee match in two sets, visit Superior Central Thursday. The Jets (1-5) go to Rapid River Thursday.

Mid Peninsula — Englund (eight aces, one kill, 15 assists, two digs); Lancour (five aces, nine kills, one block, six digs); Prater (four aces, 13 digs); Koski (two aces, 18 kills, seven digs); Lampinen (two aces, two assists, 10 digs); Salmi (one ace, one dig).
