Green Bay schools call off football
ESCANABA — Michigan is not alone in pulling the plug on high school football this fall.
The four Green Bay public schools (East, West, Preble and Southwest) have all called off football games this fall, and Notre Dame’s Fox River Classic Conference has also called off the sport for this fall.
The FRCC includes Green Bay neighbors Ashwaubenon and Pulaski.
Notre Dame, however, has decided to retain its full fall sports schedule and hopes to find intramural and interscholastic opportunities for fall.
The Tritons have until Sept. 1 to join the FRCC ranks and move football to spring.
Escanaba has played Notre Dame and East in football in past years.
