ESCANABA — The Escanaba Country Club held its annual 3-man Coonie Hogan scramble last weekend.

The 86-team field was the largest field in nearly eight years.

Scott Lancour, Jim Aird and Matt Eugate shot a two-day total of -26 under par to win the tournament. Lancour drained a 25-foot putt from just off the green to seal the deal on the final hole of the tournament while nearly 100 spectators looked on.

They were followed by Billy Nelson, Bill Nelson Sr. and Dominic Benetti with a -25. Three teams shot -24. Coming in third was John Kositzky, John Kositzky Jr. and Nate Rousseau. Fourth was Jeff Rae, Dave Douglas and Bryce Douglas with a -24, and coming in fifth was Mark Gauthier Jr., Dylan Gauthier and Nick Aird who also shot -24.

“It was an absolute perfect weekend for golf,” Escanaba director of golf Jeff Rae said. “Tyler Finch and his crew did a great job getting the course ready. After the last two Coonies and having to restructure the last two due to rain made this year’s tournament that much better!”

Other flight winners were Dave Harris, Brian Lacrosse and Steve Scott 124, PJ Grandchamp, Earl Grandchamp and Tom Shorn 125, Jeff Malo, Paul Schrader and Ken Brown 123, Kevin Kenneally, Mark McGovern and Mike Pilon 130, Brandon Belanger, Andy Schaffer and Brian Rango 133, Steve Nordstrom, Scott Nordstrom and Neil Nordstrom 139, Ben Booker, Jerry Grenfell and Ryan Miller 137, and Blake Cowen, Scott Anderson and Keenan Anderson 140.
