Escanaba father dies in motorcycle crash
OCONTO COUNTY — A Sunday afternoon crash between a motorcycle and a truck in Oconto County, Wisconsin resulted in the death of the biker — a 39-year-old Escanaba man by the name of Stanley Constantino, Jr.
Around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, a collision occurred at the intersection of County Trunk Highway S and Schwartz Road in Chase, a small rural town slightly northwest of Green Bay.
“A preliminary investigation indicates that a truck was stopped at the stop sign on Schwartz Road, facing south. The truck then proceeded into the intersection, where it was struck on the passenger-side box area of the truck by an eastbound motorcycle traveling on CTH S,” reported Oconto County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Communications Center.
The operator of the motorcycle was Stanley “Spike” Constantino, Jr., who was living in Escanaba after growing up in Rapid River, where he graduated high school in 2005.
Constantino died “as a result of injuries sustained in the crash,” the press release stated. He leaves behind a young family.
Two men from Oconto Falls who had been in the truck — a 48-year-old driver with a 25-year-old passenger — were reportedly evaluated at the scene by medical personnel and released.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family as they deal with the loss of a loved one,” wrote Oconto County Sheriff Todd Skarban.
Wisconsin State Patrol, Tri-County Fire Department, Oconto Falls Ambulance Service, the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office, the Oconto County Highway Department and Larry’s Towing all assisted the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office in responding.
The crash remains under investigation by the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office, the Wisconsin State Patrol and the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office.
