Gun fired, none hurt

ESCANABA — A firearm that was discharged inside a residence in the City of Escanaba on Thursday resulted in no injuries, authorities reported. One individual was taken into custody.
At approximately 3:44 p.m. on April 16, law enforcement units were dispatched to an address on North 14th Street after it was reported that one male subject had pointed a gun at another man.
The wrong address had been reported; after officers responded, Delta County Central Dispatch informed them that the house in question was actually located at 307 N. 12th St.
Prior to police arrival, the gun had gone off inside the home, but no people were harmed.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident, Escanaba Public Safety stated in a news release. He was lodged in Delta County Correctional Facility for felonious assault and reckless discharge of a firearm. The person was scheduled to be arraigned in 94th District Court on Friday.
The Delta County Sheriff’s Office and Michigan State Police – Gladstone Post also assisted on scene.
