Tuesday’s Senior Expo included presentations from Margo Gobert Vargo, a Medicare Specialist from Garceau Insurance Agency; Attorney Scott Brogan, from the law offices of Brogan & Yonkers, P.C., who spoke on estate planning and elder law; Attorney Jessica Bray from Upper Michigan Law Offices, who spoke on changes to automotive laws and insurance; representatives from Christian Park Health Care Center and Christian Park Village, who spoke on skilled nursing care; Delta Area Transit Authority (DATA) Executive Director John Stapleton, who spoke on the value of public transit; Tammy Luoma, RN, CEN, of Upper Peninsula Surgery Center, who spoke about interventional pain management; Peninsula Federal Credit Union Branch Manager Jennie Gylock, who spoke on how seniors can avoid scams and fraud; representatives from Skradski Family Funeral Homes, who spoke on funerals and pre-planning; and Dr. Erica Griffin, an obesity medicine specialist with UP Health Systems.
The event also featured goody bags, door prizes, and a free lunch for all in attendance.
“It was a great event with a lot of information. We want to thank everyone who came out to enjoy it with us and hope to see them all again next year,” said Terrie Belongie, Daily Press advertising manager.
