Foundation supports Welcome Newborns, Delta Regional Child Advocacy Center
Welcome Newborns
ESCANABA — The Community Foundation for Delta County Board of Trustees, staff and Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) support two of the non-profit funds held by the community foundation — the Delta Regional Child Advocacy Center and Welcome Newborns.
“The CAC model brings together those agencies responsible for the investigation and treatment of child sexual assault and physical abuse — including law enforcement, criminal justice, child protective services, medical, and mental health workers–onto one coordinated team. This process ensures that the child victim is interviewed by a trained professional one time in a safe and neutral setting rather than being exposed to several interviews by different agencies. We have been providing services across the entire Upper Peninsula working with these incredible agencies who continue to put the needs of children first and we cannot be more grateful” said Kelly Chandler, Delta Regional Child Advocacy Center program director.
“The pinwheel is a nationally recognized symbol promoted by Prevent Child Abuse America to encourage everyone to play their part in the prevention of child abuse and neglect. The Michigan Children’s Trust Fund recognizes April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month and acknowledges the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse in all its’ form,” said Rolanda “Lannie” Berg, Welcome Newborns Program Coordinator.
You can make a donation to one or both of the funds by mailing or dropping a donation off at 2420 1st Avenue South, Escanaba. If you’d rather use a credit card, contact the foundation at (906)786-6654 or visit GiveDeltaCounty.Org
